3 Sustainable Shea Butter Holiday Gift Ideas

3 Sustainable Shea Butter Holiday Gift Ideas

With the holiday season approaching, it’s time to start thinking about GIFTS! From getting together with loved ones at an open (or electric) fireplace, sharing traditions and building new memories to the gift exchange, the winter holidays are something to treasure.

I love sharing the joy of something I’ve created with my hands! With that said, here are my favourite sustainable shea butter holiday gift ideas:

1. Shea Butter Sugar Scrub

½ cup shea butter (Click here to get yours)

1 cup white, regular sugar

⅓ cup carrier oil (olive oil goes well with more spicy scents, avocado for sweeter scents)

Essential oils (about twenty drops, depending on how strong you want to make it)

Melt the shea butter, carrier oil, and essential oils in a double boiler. Before it boils, take it off the heat and let it cool for about ten minutes. When it is cool to the touch and before the oils start to harden, whip it in a glass container with a stand mixer or hand mixer at high speed. Add the sugar to the creamed butter until just combined.

PRO TIP: The shea butter mixture shouldn’t be so hot as the sugar dissolves.

Scoop the sugar scrub into a reusable container, put the lid on and wrap it with a bow!

Have a box full of collected ribbons from gifts and another packaging. Keeping these on hand is a sustainable way to pretty up any gift!

2. Shea Butter Bath Salts

After a long day, nothing soothes the skin and mind quite like a salt bath. Epsom salts are high in magnesium and can help with aching muscles, back pain and even headaches. It’s generally recommended to take at least a fifteen-minute bath once or twice a week. So put the music on, light a candle and soak in luxury.

1 cup Epsom salts

1 tablespoon of shea butter

Melt the shea butter (without boiling it) and mix with the Epsom salts. Use a ¼ cup per full bath or adjust the amount depending on the amount of bath water.

PRO TIP: We recommend not using essential oils in bath salts as they could irritate the skin (add a scented candle to the experience instead). Instead, add lavender flowers, dried mint leaves or oats to the bath for an added spa-like feel. Be sure to use a strainer when emptying the bath and compost the flowers, leaves or oats after.

3. Shea Butter Soap - NEW!!

Not feeling like DIY? We’ve done the work for you… Choose from our beautifully handcrafted soaps that are sure to be a crowd pleaser. We’ve been working hard on creating one-of-a-kind, high-quality soaps for all occasions. Unlike other soaps that contain high amounts of chemicals, our process is sustainable and uses the least amount of gentle ingredients on the most sensitive skin. Choose from a non-scented soap  or a scented one

Add a beautiful hand towel or one of the DIY products mentioned above for the complete, opulent gift of the season.

Happy Holidays!
